I get on a Delta flight from Sacramento, CA to La Guardia in NYC with service through Minneapolis. On that first flight right after we had sit down, the pilot addresses the cabin to say that the plane system is not operational so he is going to reboot the aircraft. He reassures us this is the aeronautical version of restarting your computer and asks us to enjoy the mood lighting that is emergency power while this happens. After three minutes of this romantic darkness, the power comes on and he says it seems to have fixed the problem, but even if it did not; we could probably manage with a back up (operating) system. I believe he just called tech support and got someone on the line say: Broken plane? Have you tried turning it on and off first?
