I get really infuriated when people act envious of my college degree. Any time you get down on yourself for NOT having a college education remember this... 36% percent of my income goes towards paying student debt. 72% of that payment is the interest payment. Since I have graduated college the dollar amount I have actually paid is 50% of what I owe. But because of interest I now owe more than what I borrowed. My loans have gained 13% interest even though I am making the max payments. Obamas new law to help students with loans goes into affect for loans taken after October of 2008. I took mine out in July of 2008. I have contact lawyers and they tell me there is nothing I can do. I completely regret going to college with every fiber of my being. Thankfully there are consolidation loan companies that can help. Im starting the processes. I may be in debt for the rest of my life but at least they can lower my payment so that I can live a life. Do not be envious of my debt degree.
