I got a blue icing kiss goodbye at ten thirty. Headed to houston to sleep and shorten my trip. My boys played football. Les went as far as walking on by invitation at lsu. I remember they carried all those pads in one hand and their helmet in the other. Guessing the equipment took up last few seats on a school bus. I was passed on i-10 by a tx a&m 18-wheeler--football truck. They must have a heck of a lot of equipment for college teams! Made it to east side of houston around one a.m. I lived here for five years. However, that twenty five year old invincible know it all is gone--never to be found again. I am terrified of houston traffic. I have forgotten how to get on and off the exits from one freeway to the next! I drive so much slower!! I was squeezing the steering wheel, neck and back tense, siatic nerve screaming. Night blindness hit for the first time in several years. And there were no cars. I was alone on the bridge over the ship channel. Almost alone on 610 by astro dome. It was Saturday nite--and I was alone on the freeways!!
