I got a cab driver to drive me to a ministration last week. He ended up being more than a driver; he became a friend. He entered into the hall with me and also sat under the ministration. He was not offended that the programme took a little longer than expected. According to him, he was richly blessed. But on our way back, he began to ask questions about the DISCREPANCIES OF LIFE. The inbalances of our world. How bad it is down here when there is a GOOD GOD up there... I answered most of His questions with my nods and empathetic sighs...but my sighs carried groanings that are too deep for words... **** May I gently but firmly remind you of something you know but may have forgotten? Here: Life is not fair. That’s not pessimism, it’s a fact. It’s not a complaint, it’s just simple reality. Earth is NOT HEAVEN so we should, in actual fact, LOWER OUR EXPECTATIONS of it. No matter how good this planet and the system therein has been to you, always remember that we live in A FALLEN WORLD. I don’t like it. Neither do you. Ever since the next house kid (whose dad doesnt seem to labour as much as ours) got a bicycle and we didn’t, we’ve been saying the same thing, “That’s not fair!” At some point someone needs to say to us, “Who ever told you life was going to be fair?” At least, im sure that GOD DIDNT. In James 1:2, He didn’t say, “IF you have many kinds of troubles,” He said, “WHEN you have many kinds of troubles.” In John 16:33, He didn’t say, “...in this world you MAY have MANY troubles...” He said, “...in this world you SHALL have MANY troubles...”. Troubles are part of the package. May be we could use this reminder from Jesus. He said, “My kingdom does not belong to this world. My kingdom is from another place (John 18:36).” When all of earth turns against you, all of heaven turns toward you. To keep your balance in this crooked world, think of HOME! See you there in just a moment :)
