I got a chance to chat with a young momma today who is praying - TopicsExpress

I got a chance to chat with a young momma today who is praying about homeschooling her first born in preschool next year. And as she just recently had baby #3, is feeling a bit unsure of how it will all work. As I sat with her, I was reminded that there are many mommas who probably feel this same way...regardless of the ages and stages of their kids. For those mommas who struggle knowing how to juggle all the balls, Ill share with you the same advice I gave her... 1. Sometimes the day is HOMEschool and sometimes it is homeSCHOOL. Neither way is wrong. You were called to do both and will have to learn to be OK with letting one take a backseat over the other depending upon which has the most urgent need. 2. Show yourself grace. 3. You dont have to teach your kids EVERYTHING there is to know about everything. You just have to ignite a passion in them to want to keep learning until theres nothing left to learn. If you can do that, your kids will do the rest. 4. Homeschooling is just as much about refining as it is about learning. I am refined daily. My children are refined daily. God is using both the good and the bad of homeschooling to mold us and make us into something good. Am I a perfect teacher? Nope! But my kids dont need a perfect teacher. They need an imperfect teacher willing to point them to a perfect Savior. Go with grace, sweet momma! You can do it! You were hand-picked by God to train and teach your children. Dont doubt His ability to choose wisely!
