I got a registration ticket about 3 weeks ago. Mary had forgotten to get the tag renewed on the van. No biggie. But the check engine light was on, too, so Id have to get it fixed before it would pass emissions as part of the registration process. No biggie. Took it to the local shade tree mechanic. But the code that came up was something he said wed have to take to the dealer. So we did. $80 bucks to hook it to a machine to say what the problem was. No biggie. Another $300 to have some emissions sensor replaced. No biggie. He said to drive it over the weekend before taking it through emissions as it wouldnt pass right away. No biggie. Over the weekend, the check engine light came back on. Now they want $700 dollars to replace a different sensor. I dont want $1000 dollars worth of new sensors on a van thats only 4 years old and that only cost $15,000 dollars for everything else that makes the thing drive. It drives fine. Evidently only wealthy people are supposed to be able to drive automobiles in Hamilton County. Looks like Ill sell it to my dad in Georgia, pay for him to register it there, and borrow it when necessary.
