I got a verbal offer from an old Colleague in Walnut California. This legend of engineers verbally offered me a hourly position as a field test engineer contracted for LADWP to do functional testing on their protective relays. The pay would be 125 percent of what I make here in Texas plus incentives and lots of overtime. I am so excited. He also said I would be doing field work in South America because of my Spanish (part of the interview was in Spanish). The job pays time and a half whenever I go over 40 hours a week . I told him to put it in writing and I am on my way. Another really cool thing about this job. He wants me because of my experience at IPP in Delta. He has the contract to design and construct the new Solar Power Generating Station in Delta Utah. So, in a couple of years I will be heading to Delta, Utah as the head design and commissioning engineer for a brand new 300 Megawatt solar power generating facility. Thank you Mom, I know it is because of your influence on me that keeps me going forward.
