I got an eye roll from a judgemental uptight hag in target today. The kids and I were looking for their supply lists in their display of lists. We found Noahs which was labeled for the high ability class. We couldnt find Laurens and were trying to remember what her class is called. Honors? No. Gifted? No. I said, I hate these labels. They should call it the smart ass class. I said it in a whisper but was overheard and her expression said it all. Why are people so sensitive? Im so thankful I have a sense of humor and that my kids get thAt while Im proud of their academic achievements they are no better than anyone less celebrated or recognized. They arent gifted or more able. Everyone has potential to succeed in some way. That is the humility I want them to possess. As long as they dont grow up to be assholes Im proud.
