I got destroyed yesterday. 1-4 in the main games and 2-3 in the bonus. Just a bad weekend all around. Well, bad in the sense that I was wrong in the games that I picked. Good in the sense that: 1. Auburn and TCU showed the quality that good teams, Championship caliber teams, tend to show. When everything is going wrong or you are facing adversity. You find a way to win. Nothing was going right for TCU. When you have Numerous turnovers and fail to amass anything but a minimal amount of points from them (some deep in West Virginias territory), combine that with a game where your All American Quarterback Trevone Boykin looked like a mere mortal and you are having very little go right on the offensive side of the ball. But they clawed back and won in a gritty, dirty, mistake laden game on the road in Morgantown. Auburn, also on the road, found a way to win in another hostile environment in Starkville. Potential Champions find a way. 2. Perennially over rated Georgia got smacked in the mouth by the Florida Gators. Now we can stop hearing about their National Championship hopes until next season. 3. Oregon found a way not to step on itself and, in my opinion, move into the playoff picture with a convincing win against Stanford. They should hold serve through the last 3 games and have a competitive PAC12 Championship Game and stroll into the Playoff. 4. Listening to Florida State fans and paid commentators argue FSUs merits for being included in the playoff while in the same breath dismiss Notre Dames claim to be included is like listening to a kid arguing for the existence of Santa Claus. FSU : Well they have no quality wins. Where are their quality wins? They are ranked in the top 10 but who have they beaten? They dont belong even in the discussion ND: Where are FSUs quality wins? Who has FSU beaten this season. FSU: We beat Notre Dame. ND: But you just implied that they arent a quality team. So who are FSUs quality wins against? Unranked Oklahoma State? #21 Clemson? FSU: Well we are the defending National Champion and we are undefeated. ND: In a conference that may be the worst Power 5 Conference. Florida State is the defending National Champion and they are undefeated. They are a top 4 team (No better than #3 in my opinion) and deserve a spot in the playoff if they win out. 5. Unless the Playoff committee wants to lose any shred of credibility your top spots this weekend should belong to: 1. Mississippi State (Potential SEC Champ. Win and In.) 2. Florida State (Potential ACC Champ. Defending Natl Champ. Win and In) 3. Auburn (Does not control their own destiny. Needs to win out and Alabama to beat Mississippi State) 4.Oregon (Potential PAC12 Champ. Win and In) 5. TCU (Potential Big12 Champ. Win and In.) 6. Alabama (Needs to win out. Gets in as SEC Champ.) 7. Michigan State (Needs to win out as the BIG10 Champ and two 2 loss Power 5 Champions) 8. K State 9. Notre Dame 10. Arizona
