I got home late last night from the NCAA Regional here in Lincoln. I checked my mail and it was FULL of items from Alliance, Nebraska. If any of you have wondered why I started referring to Alliance on-air the last few months as my adopted home town, check out these photos. First of all, this was completely unnecessary, but Alliance Chamber of Commerce President Kevin Horn took the time to draft this very heart-felt letter that really moved me. Next, there was a big box that make a clanking noise. This is one of the sweetest gifts Ive EVER received. I dont think too many of you would associate me with SPURS, but my sincere thanks to Mick and Sandy McCarthy for this wonderful gesture. I truly mean it when I say speaking at the Alliance Chamber Banquet in January was one of the true highlights of my life, and the main reason is the extraordinary kindness all of those folks extended to me. Theres a lot of reasons why Jordan Hooper is very special, but I can tell the environment and culture of her hometown have a lot to do with who she is. Thank you all again!
