I got into a discussion with a friend over the cause of high blood sugar. He maintained that high sugar intake caused Diabetes. I argued that it did not and he insisted he was correct. I found an article today from the better medicine web page that supports my argument. Assuming an elevated blood sugar level is the cause of diabetes is like assuming that coughing is the cause of pneumonia. And not only does sugar itself not cause diabetes, there is no convincing evidence that sugar causes other problems that it has been blamed for, such as hyperactivity. Many medical myths develop along these lines. So there ya go Sam...I am going to eat my candy.
