I got off the subway at Fordham Plaza near my apartment (in the Bronx) a few minutes ago, and saw a dozen or so cop cars slowly driving around with a helicopter flying overhead. I asked one what had happened, and they said two cops got shot. I really hope this isnt a continuing trend. At the end of the day, we are all just people who want to our jobs with as little trouble as possible. My heart goes out to the victims and their families tonight. :-/
