I got the opportunity to explore the inside of a volcano in Iceland. This island is covered with volcanic ash and lava. There is much activity here in the form of geysers, sulfuric steam vents, hot baths, and glaciers that have been covered by the black soot. We were lowered by ropes down 400 feet into the hollow chamber. The third image shows the small hole from which we were lowered. The colors inside were magnificent.
