I got the test results back today from the dermatologist regarding my and my sons (13 yrs old) EPP. I havent been tested in a very long time and my son was tested back in 2006. Mine. Son Free Protoporphyrin test. 1632. 2638 Liver enzymes. Normal. AST 78. ALT 66 Both of our Vitamin D and Iron levels were low. I figured our Vitamin D would be low but this is the first time weve been told our iron was low. I was surprised that my sons FEP #s were higher than mine and also higher from his 2006 test which was 1322. Im concerned that his liver enzymes are slightly elevated. They are requesting me to take him to a liver doctor. Just thought Id share to see if our FEP #s are about on range with other EPP patients.
