I got this message Last night and I was devastated..... These images are quite haunting. Despite the government assurance that the security have been beefed up, the psychological trauma is beyond words. Unlike the killings in Mpeketoni, the killings in Hindi were done by knife. People were slaughtered like chicken. There is no help in terms of counseling. Simply no response except the military presence. Buses are booked to capacity for a whole week, people are running away. The story of Lamu county will never be the same again. Our story is untold. People have fled their homes to either the prison for women or the bush for men. The whole scenario reminding our people of their lives during the undocumented Shifta war in the 90s when we all slept in the bush for years while we grew up. Help me tell the story of the people I represent but I cant help directly. Please As I write this, my father and my brother are in the bush...Really no one have slept in their homes. The truama is devastating. Mr. President even if you will do nothing else for the next one month lets bring sanity in Lamu and Tana CC:Uhuru Kenyatta
