I got word a few hours ago that my ex-girlfriend Sandys dog Abby was put down today, due to an illness from which she could not recover. She was about 15 years old- a small pomeranian who loved everyone, but especially Sandy, who saved her from a puppy mill life by adopting her. Sandy always enjoyed telling the story of visiting a dog rescue facility that held Abby. She was married at the time, and she and her husband had a very small pom named t bear (too small to capitalize,) and they were feeling lonely without a dog in the house. They went to a place that held a number of poms. Which one to choose? As Sandy bent down to take a closer look, one of the pomeranians came up to Sandy and put her front paws on Sandys knees, looking longingly into Sandys eyes. That was it. That was Abby. I never owned a dog, but Abby was as close as I ever came to having one. I loved that little pom, and I took care of her on a number of occasions. I think about times past when I think about Abby and the times I spent with her and Sandy. Ive got plenty of video, too. Abby made it to the street fair in Yellow Springs, for one, along with a number of other videos. Everyone adored her. It was impossible not to like her. Ive got two pictures to post: 1.
