I gotta bone to pick... Bamas Bones: But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Galatians 5:22-23 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:13-17 Bone Fragments: Have you ever got up and went for a long ride ....naked? Now before you answer that I dont mean one of those breezy runs around the rally grounds when you were not in your right mind. I mean stone cold sober, completely in your right mind, consciously, get up, without a stitch on, and go for a ride. Yeah I didnt think so. We plan our rides dont we? We check the weather channel, see what type of clothing we need to face the elements for the most comfortable ride. We put on our leather jackets, chaps, gloves, bandana, eye protection, heck some of the high tech, cold natured, riders even take time to plug in their heated gloves, jacket, etc., etc. It takes a lot of time and effort to do all this and its well worth it in the end. Right? Then why do we as Christians want to go out into a world that hates us and not be suited up for the battle? The two passages of scripture above list the spiritual clothing we have at our disposal. We have the ability to choose to wear them or not. The Holy Spirit gives us the fruit to bear (BTW - Im doing a series on the Fruits of the Spirit at DBF if you wanna get deeper) and in our closet we have the Armor of God that we can put on for the battle. These things are given to us to make this ride we call life, BETTER! It takes time and effort to put this stuff on but in the end its worth it. RIGHT? Bottom line you have a choice!! Bear the fruit and put on the armor daily to show others what a life with Christ can be like and live with a purpose OR choose to ride through life spiritually naked and show others how easy it is to lay it down and get skint up. CHOOSE WISELY MY FRIENDS!
