I grew up asking six questions, which I regard as my best little friends: Why? How? What? Who? Where? When? Let me ask again: Why on Earth is Uganda in that ethnic conflict in South Sudan and what does she stand to gain -or lose -ultimately? We know it was President Museveni who unilaterally decided to involve Uganda in that internal senseless ethnic conflict and that later the NRMO caucus in parliament rubberstamped the action but does anyone know when Uganda will disentangle herself from the ethnic quagmire? Who is paying for the participation of Uganda in that quagmire and when he or she pays where does the money go? Who ensures full accountability for the money paid and the deaths of Ugandan soldiers in an ethnic conflict that is ound to claim civilian and non-civilian lives for a long time? Might Ugandas participation in the conflict fueling it or ringing prosects of a negotiated settlement closer? Does a military approach to peace and security completely solve a sociopolitical crisis, especially one with ethnic undertones and overtones, or complicate it in the longs-term but gives a falsehood of a solution having been struck?
