I grew up in Kailua Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii back in the 1980s while my parents were missionaries with YWAM. Kona will always be home even when we live elsewhere and my wife and I recently had the chance to take a 2 week trip to visit Kona again after 5 years! Ive been starting to work on learning to play the ukulele and learning some Hawaiian songs so Im still a bit of a novice on the new instrument. I had the chance to record this version of the beautiful song Aloha Oe (Farewell to Thee) by Queen Liliuokalani out by Keahou Bay on our last day in the Islands.
