I grew up in an American Sicilian/Irish home and my Dad always had - TopicsExpress

I grew up in an American Sicilian/Irish home and my Dad always had music on in the house. He bought the house in 1950 and rebuilt the entire house over his whole life. The house is a physical love letter to my Mother. My Dad could do the best Irish brogue around and he would have stacks of Irish music playing throughout the house. He would be working and singing to my Mother as she did her housework. Here is one of my favorite songs... RED IS THE ROSE https://youtube/watch?v=3VSvan38ASs RED IS THE ROSE Come over the hills my bonny Irish lass Come over the hills to your darling You choose the road love and Ill make a vow That Ill be your true love forever Chorus: Red is the rose that in yonder garden grows Fair is the lily of the valley Clear is the water that flows from the Boyne But my love is fairer than any Its down in Killarneys green woods that we strayed When the moon and the stars, they were shining For the moon shone its rays on her locks of golden hair And she said shed be my love forever Chorus Its not for the parting with my sister Kate Its not for the grief of my mother Its all for the loss of my bonny Irish lass That my heart is breaking forever
