I guess I am the only fellow in the Africa, south of the Sahara and north of the Limpopo river who has boarded a plane, yes an aeroplane before boarding a bus. It was my maiden trip to Nairobi, and I had secured a lift from the military aircraft at the army camp at Takaba. At the time I had imagined that the military aircraft I was privileged to board to travel to the capital city will spend days on the way, thus the wise decision to carry a three litre jerry can of water just in case I became thirsty on the long journey. Nairobi, I was reliably informed, was thousands of Kilometres and though still a certified villager, I knew one needed a minimum of three days to reach the dream city where milk and honey flows infront of every home...
