I guess Im always anti-institutional. Ive never really gotten along in the academic environment too well. Not that Im some big radical or anything. It just always bugged me. I felt that there was some kind of constraints there that I didnt really want to listen to. And I think for film you dont really need necessarily that, if youre a self-motivated person. Which you need to be for film anyways, thats lesson number one. Its not like you get your degree and the industry gives you this or that. If youre ever going to write and direct your own movies, and get your own movies made, you have to be a HUSTLER and be kind of OBSESSIVELY motivated. Schools not going to give you that or teach you those skills. You just kinda have to DO IT.
