I guess Im in me Irish Mode today... so it was that the recently relocated Father OMalley rose from his bed one morning and found himself facing a fine spring day in his new west Texas parish. He walked to the window to get a deep breath of the fresh spring air and noticed the body of a dead jackass sprawled out right in the middle of his front lawn. Fr. OMalley called the local police station. Good morning. This is Sargeant Jones. How might I help you? And the best of the day teyerself, the Irish priest began, this is Father OMalley at St. Ann s Catholic Church. Theres a jackass lying dead in me front lawn and would ye be so kind as to send a couple oyer lads to take care of the matter? Sgt. Jones, believing himself quite a wit and recognizing the foreign accent thought hed have a little fun with the priest. Well now Reverend, Im under the impression that you people took care of the last rites yourselves! There was dead silence on the line for a long moment and then Fr. OMalley replied, Aye, tis true, tis true... but were obliged to notify the next of kin first, which is the reason for me call...
