I guess (Kat) youd have to see a German health food store for yourself to believe it. There are only body products...a TINY shelf dedicated to overpriced supplements with hardly nothing in them. I couldnt believe it. Melatonin is illegal in other countries....Good heavens, how would I get to sleep and protect my brain against tumors (which my grandfather died of...) without melatonin in the US? When NHF meets in the first part of November at the Codex committee meeting on nutrition (i.e. MALNUTRITiON) do you want YOUR VOICE to be heard or not? Frankly I cannot believe the complacency of this Facebook family. Sorry but its true. There are a few exceptions for whom NHF is so grateful. But we have had so few donors- mostly in industry this time trying to protect their health food stores from going under- but only a few of YOU cared enough to help fund this trip in which a 5 person delegation will speak to defend your right to use supplements with decent values. Im disappointed. I lose 10+ days of work at my other job(s) to attend AND paying my own way for large portions of this trip and who here cares enough to make sure they are represented? NHF has faithfully been the ONLY reporters at this behind closed doors meeting for years and years. No one else speaks about what really goes on.... Sorry to be so bold but Ive been to 4 or 5 of these meetings now and its largely the same each time. If you are on this page then please, care. Being emotional about likes? That is great but where does it translate into just plain getting NHF there??? We are frugal. I will fly (thanks to a vendor of mine related to my nutritional therapy field) for 16 hours in ECONOMY. Have you had that experience? I wouldnt wish it on you. I will buy one meal per day and sleep in accommodations that are about a 2 star. (I run a 5 star retreat in WA State..and live there...) I will take public transportation like trains vs. taxis.... So please, I have never been so bold but maybe you think we are financed by the government or have some huge trust fund. We are a non-profit and only one of 5 consumer organizations at Codex and the ONLY health freedom organization there. Iran came up to NHF last meeting and said, DO you realize the whole World hates you? When you speak out we have to change our equipment. We have to change the way we do business. In short, YOU cost us money. NHF is dedicated to health and health freedom and not profits. So who else at the global theater of politics is after health and health freedom?? It is NHF. No other health freedom organizations are even in the parking lot holding up a sign. If you want representation and protection of your health and health freedom, you are going to need to act or suffer the consequences. As they say, You can pay now or pay later in the form of about 12 bottles of Vitamin D3 when you buy one now. In addition to the values below dropping there are saturated fats and protein values being debated, infant formula reductions in crucial vitamins- actually ELIMINATIONS- Vitamin E in particular...this is a crucial meeting. Act! thenhf/article.php?id=3567 (last years synopsis) [3] The proposed Codex NRVs are: Vitamin A (dropped from 800 mcg to 550 mcg); Vitamin D (5 mcg or 200 IUs); Vitamin E (8.8 mg); Vitamin K (60 mcg); Vitamin C (dropped from 60 mg to 45 mg); Thiamin (dropped from 1.4 to 1.2 mg); Riboflavin (dropped from 1.6 mg to 1.2 mg); Niacin (dropped from 18 mg to 15 mg); Vitamin B6 (dropped from 2 mg to 1.3 mg); Folate (raised to 400 mcg); Vitamin B12 (2.4 mcg); Pantothenate (5 mg); Biotin (30 mcg); Calcium (raised from 800 mg to 1000 mg); Magnesium (dropped from 300 mg to 240 mg); Iodine (150 mcg); Iron (14.3-43.1 mg depending upon bioavailability); Zinc (dropped from 15 mg to 3.6-11.9, depending upon bioavailability); Selenium (30 mcg); Phosphorus (700 mg); Chloride (2.3 grams); Copper (900 mcg); Fluoride (3.5 mg); (are you serious????
