I guess being "brown" or "Mexican" has always been a huge part of my identity. My parents are from Mexico, and i spent some good time there growing up. So those experiences definitely molded my perspective and outlook. I experienced huge culture shock when i attended a mostly white college prep (mini ivy league) high school in cold ass New Jersey. That was when i really realized "awe man, my experience is very distinct to the rest of the world. i was living in a little brown bubble."
