I guess my analysis will have it that all the negatives on Key put him in peoples minds - marketing and all. I did think it wrong for the left to say it didnt really matter which left party - the if it doesnt matter then it doesnt matter thing comes in. Maybe it was a tactic to get around the factions problem of the past - lets all be nice. Well if youre all going to be nice then get in the same team? Its a hard one with this MMP. The Greens are very difficult because they are idealists. Labour tries to be idealist but imo ought to be pragmatic - build the dam, tax the rich, have another school. We did see some of this to be honest. dunno. The general disinterest in politics means that those who understand their support this way or that has an effect on mandate is reduced to those who feel in control of their lives. Predisposed selection to the more wealthy, so on to the right. I also think, in terms of brand, Labour still doesnt have the trust. The 1980s really put them in a difficult position. Again, who are they? Do they believe in the economic system or not? Whose side are they on and how? Rave over. Im off to sand the boat.
