I guess theres two types of people who will read this article. Type 1 - will read this and think This isnt right...this isnt fair...something has to be done about this. And then theres Type 2 - thats life, youre not the first person to lose your job because of a change in the markets. You might remember a company named Polaroid. The revolution of digital images destroyed what that company was. They have reinvented themselves and have a stable business model, but they may never be...what they once were. I worked for a bank in 2008...which was a HORRIBLE time to work for the financial industry. Now I work for an energy company. Who knows what the future holds...but you wont catch me saying cheap oil is killing my job. Youll hear me say, I need to adapt, overcome, and find a new way to win.
