I guess when I got into Serial I wasnt expecting a perfect ending, but I thought the story had been vetted. Otherwise, why engage in the spectacle of reinvestigating a case that had already been solved as far as the justice system is concerned? Why drag the families and the witnesses back through it in a very public way if you dont have some idea about the outcome? Normally youd do the legwork and figure out whether you have a revisionist version of the events (like Koenigs TAL piece on Dr. Vince Gilmer), a straight-but-revealing version of the events (In Cold Blood, Columbine), or nothing at all. Its an amazing series and groundbreaking in so many ways. I just hope we dont all feel icky at the end. Aka, the suspense is killing me! Why did they take the week off?
