I had Radio 1 on for my drive on Friday night. B.Traits show was on, which I was finding the quality of her music very very ... not to my tastes (and Im a VERY broadminded listener ... but still, each to their own). Then she played this. And I had to Shazam it, so I could listen to it again in the week to check that it REALLY was as shit as it sounded in the car. She had bigged it up and said what a huge track it had been for her all year. I cannot fathom how different my brain must be to hers, to hear something so differently. I mean, as a producer, there is no denying, that this is is a pile of shit. To my ears, its everything wrong with music. But then, is it good BECAUSE its shit? I dont know. I just dont know anymore.
