I had a 90 minute massage scheduled for this morning and yesterday while Saylor was in surgery I seriously contemplated cancelling it, but my sister and Saylors dad effectively talked me out of that. I went this morning and while I felt like I had been holding it all together, my body told a different story. There were bumps and creaks from my neck to my sacrum. As my massage therapist lovingly and masterfully worked out these bumps and creaks, dark emotions began to surface. Those emotions that I was keeping at bay with my intellect all day yesterday: grief, fear, anxiety, sadness, worry and the cherry on top - disgust with myself for feeling anything other than gratitude. Finally as he worked out the bumps and creaks tears left my eyes and the only thing left was surrender. The only thing I knew how to do was to keep on keeping on like a bird that flew tangled up in blue. ~ Bob Dylan
