I had a break through on a song this week... A huge one for me ! I am hindered by words on some worship songs, as far as how they line up with the word of God and I cannot get past it. Well this week God worked on me with the song Holy Spirit - The lyrics sing as follows.. Holy Spirit you are welcome here, come flood this place and fill the atmosphere, your glory God is what my heart longs for, to be overcome by your presence Lord Now my thinking was I have already the Holy Spirit, why sing of his welcome, and flooding this atmosphere......then God reminded me of something... If we are a 3 part being, (Spirit, Soul, & Body) Is my Soul filled with His spirit. that is an easy one... If my soul is my mind, will, and emotions then the answer is depends on the hour!!! My soul is like a gas tank and the gauge reads (as far as allowing his spirit to flood my soul)... some days it is on Full, someday it is on a half a tank, somedays I am on fumes... Now my spirit is full of him, completely.... but I have to allow my spirit to fill my soul by my act of free will/my focus. So when I sing Holy Spirit you are welcome here... I am not singing about his physical presence around me, but literally my soul being flooded by His presence, His Spirit.
