I had a chance to read through much of Rick Remenders controversial CAPTAIN AMERICA run today. Initial reports had me worried but when folks I respected defended him online I thought I should see for myself. Bottom line? I liked it. Hes not Mark Waid or Ed Brubaker but his Cap IS Cap. The Nazi banner? The rape scene? It all works in context and isnt what its been made out to be OUT of context. And he actually made Arnim Zola a nuanced character! Give the guy a break, people. Its only lines on paper and it remains the most consistently written and drawn comic book Marvel has put out in years.
