I had a dream last night/this morning. It was about head coverings. I thought there were some contextual issues and some of word usage I did not agree upon at face surface, concerning head coverings however while I was praying about this topic, God was showing me submission to authority and the relationship between men and women. I think that has been my greatest revelation, over the past several days. I presented many of the things I saw in English/Greek on a thread but I think my question was misunderstood. I was wondering if anyone could explain the words of choice in Greek and the grammatics . A brother told me I could have presented the question in a different way and I agreed so I repent if I offended anyone. I am grateful for all sincere responses. Many were very helpful. I had a dream about head coverings. In my dream, I felt fully awake and I knew I the Holy Spirit was speaking to me, in a dream. As Job says Job 33:13-18 Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters. [14] For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. [15] In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; [16] Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, [17] That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. [18] He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword. In my dream, I was in my Semi-Truck. While I was sitting in my seat, God started speaking to me in Greek about the word veil. He was speaking to me about the womens veil (concerning hair). For whatever reason, I understood Greek in my dream and I was just listening to Him speak to me in Greek, in spirit. After He was done talking, I can remember thinking and seeing that the Greek word for a physical veil and the veil of a womans hair were indeed different. I think I woke up at 3:14 am wide awake. I was full of energy and very in tune to what God was speaking. When I woke up, I felt as if God was showing me how the veil was made more important about the overall concept of the passage; submission and obedience to Gods authority. I believe God wants us to understand His authority and obey Him in all things, no matter how trivial. The veil in its self is a nuetural piece of cloth. Of its self, it has no power for it is but a piece of cloth however, as I am understanding, God has decided to use a physical piece of cloth to demonstrate authority and submission as a physical covering. This was the understand of the early Christians in which many of them spake Greek and they kept written records in what we now know as early church history. I felt as if God also showed me, woman can wear a veil and not understand authority which is why I think that this topic should be discussed (taught) in depth. The outward adorning of a physical veil may be a symbol however, submission and obedience to God needs to be taught, in light of the overall concept of walking with God. I think if this topic is spoken of concerning submission, authority and love towards God in all things, natural and spiritual authority in the home (between a man and his covenant wife), and the calling of roles, it will make make much more sense. Telling women that God wants them to wear a head covering will not make sense, if not properly explained in the fullness of its overall content and context. For this reason, it seems important for all to listen to the Holy Spirit so the Holy Spirit can teach us all things (1 John 2:27).
