I had a general question about comparing (hardware & software) platforms of Windows/PC vs Apple/Mac. My kid is crazy about her Iphone & Ipod, and shes very strong in Science/Math, & plans to become an Engineering major. I was planning to get her a new laptop. Back in last milennium I had heard Apple platform/hardware was best for Humanities/Arts, but that Windows/PC was best for Science/Business. Is that distinction still valid? If she got a Mac would there be any downside in her Math/Engineering studies?
