I had a great day yesterday! I spent it with my good friend here in Vegas feeding feral cat colonies. While buying food, water and ice for the kitties we ran into a homeless man, asking for change who said he was really hungry. So, we went into Subway and bought him a foot long, veggie patty sandwich and loaded it up with veggies. Who knows? It may have been his first vegetarian sandwich ever. He was so very grateful when we gave it to him. He then told us tomorrow is his birthday so, we wished him happy birthday! I felt we just might be the only ones whom he would here that from so, Im glad he told us. As we were getting ready to head back, my friend called her 75 year old ex-neighbor who recently returned from a stay at the hospital to see if she needed anything as we were in her neighborhood. I was overwhelmed by the kindness in her heart. I have the upmost respect for her. She does so much for so many others in need and never seeks accolades or praise. In fact, she is quite humble and lives a fairly private life. Although extremely rare, she reminds me that integrity and nobility arent dead. I feel truly blessed to have found such a kindhearted friend here in Sin City. With gratitude.... Oh, and of course, she is vegan!! :)
