I had a horrible morning today! Our Nogales Compound, where my house is situated was on fire around 2:45 am. My neighbor, Wang yelled and woke up the neighborhood. “Mata na kamo. Nasusunog tayo!” I glide the window, OMG! Our compound is burning. I immediately went out. Every body is panicking. I scrolled my CP but found no number of any personnel of my friends in the fire dept. I texted our PNP Chief of Police, Edgardo Ardales and SPO3 Nancy Alforte “We need help! Nasusunog po kami.” One resident went to the Fire Dept to inform them of the incident. I guess, around 3:20 a city fire truck came. And the fire is growing big. The fire truck had only one hose. It was emptied and left for recharging. The fire is getting bigger and bigger. Another fire truck arrived from the Bacon Fire Dept. The fire has spread out over the area of the compound. My house is 1 unit away from the burning building. I packed up… I almost do not know where to start. Thanks God, another fire trucks arrived from Gubat, Chinese Volunteers and Juban. The fire was finally put under control. “Oh God. Salamat po. My house is safe!” Fire was declared out around 5am. Nine units of apartments and the entire boarding houses were coaled and turned into ashes. SALAMAT PO LORD, NAAPULA ANG APOY AT LIGTAS LAHAT! “May natagpuan po kaming casualty sa loob, tao po,” As reported by the Fire Officer. It was a shock to us! It was found in Budoi Hababag’s room where the fire has started. We did not conclude it was him. The body is burnt and was hard to identify. Besides , we did not find his service motorbike outside his house. “Sana hindi siya, sana hindi siya!,” Wang cried. I called Ron (his brother-in-law) to call his relatives. Few minutes his sister and brother arrived. Then report said, it was 80% identified as Budoi’s body based on significant markings. Was the fire caused willfully? There was a suspicion of a foul play because his motorbike is missing… Kung sino man po ang may custody ng motor ni Budoi, paki-inform po ang PNP para sa ikakalutas ng kaso. Let us wait for the result of the investigation of the rightful authorities!
