I had a katangahan moment yesterday morning around 6am. I accidentally and literally dropped/flushed my Samsung Galaxy Note 2(for reference purposes) in the toilet bowl after peeing. The back cover landed on the floor(tough luck) while the battery(dislodged on impact with the inner side of the bowl) and phone swirled around the bowl. The phone and the battery were under water for about a good 3 to 5 seconds. I actually had to try and prevent the battery from being sucked inside as I grabbed the phone first. After retrieving both, i just wiped it dry, removed the sim card and asked Fati to put it in our rice box. I then transferred the sim to the 4S. When I came home from work around 6pm, overzealousness and impatience set in. I asked wifey to give me the phone and the battery. I knew I should not put the battery just yet and turn the unit on but I still did. The display was blurred and it kept on blinking. Then the unit died. Told myself, great job. Shouldve waited another day more before trying to power it on again as most DIY tips and blogs suggest. At any rate, I removed the battery again, resigned to the fate that I may have just ruined the phone completely. Frankly speaking, I dreaded using the iphone again as it gave me so much eye strain. Well anyway, we had dinner and told wifey that the phone isnt working anymore but I am still keeping whatever little hope I have that it would work again. I also told her that if the phone works, we will not use another mobile phone brand as this was the second time the same phone suffered unintentional abuse. First was when I accidentally spilled about a medium sized ice-cold soda on its screen and sides a few months ago. It took about a week before i was able to make it work. It was soaked-sticky then. Around 11:30pm or about 3 hours ago, i told myself, might as well try turning it on again before I go to bed. The phone was trying to boot up but it kept on turning off. I saw the battery indicator that it was empty. So I plugged it in the charger and decided to sleep. I then woke up around 30 mins ago because i was thirsty. I checked to see the unit and saw that the battery was already fully charged. I then turned the unit on again and voila! It booted up completely! I immediately removed my sim from the 4S and put it back in the Note 2. And this is what i am using now to post this status update. Ecstatic that my phone is up and running again in less than 24 hours! Now happily going back to sleep. :-)
