I had a memory come up early this morning and its 10:00pm where I am and it still hasnt left me yet. It came up because of the weather and the time of year, this time of year always manages to make me remember grammar school. (a million years ago) I was riding my bike to the post office and the air had that September morning coolness that made me think of pencils and starting school... and a song from that time (for me) began playing in my head. Paul McCartneys With A Little Luck. That song immediately triggered the memory of my best friend in grammar school (yes this is a tangent and its going to take a while, you impatient or something?) my friend PJ Venino. He and I used to dream up movie ideas back then because we were both destined to be film makers and all that kind of nonsense and he had made up a story concept for a film that involved that song... It was a story about a group of young friends, (early teens) who slowly discovered that they all had psychic powers, the ability to move objects, see the future and that sort. They had fun developing and learning how to use their inexplicable powers... but they were also KIDS who have personalities and lives that are not always good. And so one of them ends up being a bad character who has ill intentions. The story becomes more serious when they realize that these powers arent just fun but can have real life consequences and can even be used to kill people! I dont remember if his story ever got past the concept stage or a single word was written down on paper, all I do remember was that the characters had a favorite hang-out which was a junk yard, one of them got killed along the way, lessons were learned and the ending involved a situation in which the bad kids powers would end up something that would kill all of them... The very last scene would involve their apparent death in a complete tragedy, only to be followed by it all working out somehow... we see the junk yard where they hung out and one by one, they all begin to emerge from behind or under junk, including the one who had been killed earlier in the film. Again, I dont remember all the details but, I remember PJ telling me about this film concept (which still to this day sounds good to me) and playing that song on a cassette tape as what he wanted for the soundtrack for the last scene in which the friends emerge from under junk before the screen fades to black and the credits roll to this song... https://youtube/watch?v=7HK0VG46zF0
