I had a parent ask me today at the school if I was getting SSI for Zachariah since he has ADHD and is on meds. I replied"No, why would I do that, there is nothing wrong with him!" She replies" you can get $700 a month for him". I replied" that is what is wrong with people nowadays, thinking it is ok to drain our social security funds by putting kids on SSI that do not need it". Needless to say that was the end of our conversation!! Unless they are mentally handicapped to a point of where they cannot hold a job, then they should not be receiving SSI payments. People are so lazy and need to realize the example they are setting for their children!
