I had a phone call from Guide dogs today, stupidly my heart jumped as I thought it was going to be the call I had been waiting for . The lady was very nice but it was a courtesy call just checking to see how I was coping now Rhea is retired. We had a good chat and I appreciated the call but of course it was not the call I was hoping for. I just wish my new dog was here so I could once again walk with that wonderful feeling of independence . I feel for all those waiting for a guide dog whether it is there first or like me there next guide dog. Today I spoke to a friend who guide dog was retired yesterday and at least I could emphasis with her. I keep telling myself I must be patient as I know there a lot of people waiting. my time will come but I hope it is soon. Rhea is still holding her own and I am so thankful for this we take short walks together and we have a lot of cuddles. I just hope she will understand when she sees me with another dog in harness. Well going down for tonight just feeling a bit emotional Apple juice and biscuits before bed but what I would give for a nice glass of Red wine. May be tomorrow when I go out for lunch.
