I had a really good time at the BCHPA convention and over the next little while I will be posting stuff that came up or out at the convention. There is some really exciting stuff that is being worked on. One of the things that as a breeder that almost made me jump up shoot amen like I was at a souther baptist meeting. The presenter, she is a genetic bee researcher from the Universaty of Washington State. She is breading Caucasian honey bees that she brought into the US from the Caucasus Mountains in Europe and some of us are approaching CFIA and USDA to get permits to allow us to bring these queens into Canada. If I could cross breed them with these Old World Carniolans that I have, that would be amazing.
