I had a similar experience to the below. I used to have a camper and I was in the downtown Quincy area on a Tuesday night looking for something good going on. Virtually all the bars were empty. So after a Guinness here and a Guiness there, I walked out of Paddy Barrys and heard the sound of lots of folks cheering and clapping. Intent, I headed in that direction. I came to a bar -- I forget its name, since closed (Common Ground, maybe?) -- and the place was packed with wall to wall with people. So I move in, noting the happiness of everyone all around me and take a spot at the end of the circular bar near the waitress station -- it was the only place I could find. It was like doing a squeeze and pretending that youre not there. Guinness, please I said to the bartenderess -- I had some cash on me this night so I was upgraded from Bud--lol! Im looking around, smilingly and listening to the Irish entertainer who had everybody in the room going. Within the wait for the Guinness I learn that the performer is a famous entertainer from Ireland and that everyone in the room was like total Irish. So my Guinness comes and Im thinking Im good and ready for anything as I knock off a bit of foam from my first sips. Prizing my beer, it was then that I realized I was the only non-Irish person in room. After this conclusion I further realized that I was the only one in the room, drinking a Guinness -- right down to the very last person they all had Bud-Lights--lol! I held my position and had quite a few with the Irish that night. Good thing I had come in a camper--lol!
