I had a very relaxing day my first full day here. Mostly stayed home and had a nice visit with my loved ones and helped out with the grandbaby so Jamie could get some much needed schoolwork done. After Ofir got home we celebrated his birthday with a delicious fried chicken dinner from the islands store/deli along with some freshly cut melon and pineapple. There was a lady selling fresh bakery goods out of the back of her SUV at the store. Jamie and Ofir tell me that she and her husband have a bakery shop in town and they also bring their wares to the store parking lot to drum up more business. It must work, because by the time we got there, a line had already formed. We bought a delicious baguette, flakey croissants and turnovers, cinnamon rolls, I got the last raspberry filled donut and some other sweet and salty pretzel like things that I cant remember the name of. But I have put a short video of it on my page so you can see her complete parking lot operation. After dinner, we all went for a nice long walk and Jamie and Ofir pointed out some interesting landmarks along the way. The weather was perfectly balmy with a nice breeze to keep us cool along our way. On our way back we met up with a few of their friends and had a very nice time visiting with them!! They were all vacationing on the island and live just across from where Jamie and Ofir are staying. Two of them are from Germany and the other one is from France. Very down to earth and fun loving people!! I very much enjoyed meeting them and listening to their accents:) Looking forward to seeing them again soon! Then it was back home for some Mexican Train dominos. My first time playing this game and I very much enjoyed myself!! A fun and easy game to learn!! Their friend Kelly made Ofir a birthday cheese cake, so we had that with vanilla ice cream. Best store bought vanilla ice cream Ive ever tasted hands down!! Luckily we left enough for Ofir and I to enjoy a couple of Rootbeer floats tomorrow! lol :D Such a nice, relaxing and fun day today. I cant wait to see what tomorrow brings. I think Im going to learn how to play a game called Squash which is much like our American Racket Ball. And we will also be going out for a dual birthday celebration dinner with some more of their friends, one of which has a birthday tomorrow:) Having such a great time!! :)
