I had about an hour long conversation with my oldest, well lets say longest, and first best friend, Lesley Martin Davis. We havent seen each other in years, and havent seen each other more than a handful of times in the last 25 years, but we can always manage to catch up in a matter of minutes. We were discussing the fact that we would be 40 on our next Birthdays!! So I get on Facebook this morning and see Cynthia McGrew Davis, who was my worst enemy in junior high school. lol. (if you went to St. Matthews, you know we had daily spats!! you see, we were just alike in a lot of ways, and it seems we both thought we were the queens of the Panther Pride!!!) Well, she had posted that she would soon be 4 0! So this got me to thinking about those Good Ole Days! The memories of St. Matthews Junior High came flooding back. The Gym, the cafeteria, the teachers. I could almost hear us talking in the hallways and laughing in the gym!!! I work part time at a nursing home with Douglas Feazell, who now goes by Doug! I am quite proud of our Lil Doogie Poo. he isnt the annoying lil brat he used to be. He has done quite well for himself and is the Maintenance Supervisor at NCCC. We were just talking last week about everyone and who we see or have talked to and what everyone is doing. I keep up with some of you. I have stayed close to some, have seen some or talked to a few. I even see some on a daily basis at work...(if you know where I work, you know thats not a good thing, lol) Some of us settled down even though no one thought we would, Nat Nat Barnhart. Some of us are Grandparents, Leva McDaniel Russell. Some of us have survived cancer, Audra Delrie Kirkland. Some of us have had a small army of children, Kim Dupre Rentz. And some of us have made it in Show Business, Cherry Vercher. I know not all of you are turning 40. some are a few years older, or a few years younger, but these are the faces I remember. Take a minute to comment and let everyone know where you are, what you are doing. post some pics if you want. Feel free to tag someone I forgot or dont have. This will be fun. So Happy 40th Birthday old Friends, belated or early. And congrats on surviving Mrs. Gammagess math class, Mr. Scroggins breaking your heart (girls, you all thought he was gonna marry you when you turned 18), not getting expelled when you cheated on Mrs. Paytons Louisiana History Parish test (it was my idea to hide the accordion folded papers under the tables, but John Shillings found my the next hour cause he had the same hour and turned me in so he could hide his instead), and for living through perverted Couch Mullins crazy Deception Volley ball games!!! We made it yall!!!!!
