I had already been to many parades in my young life. I had always wanted to be in one, but that had not happened. When I was eight years old I was a Cub Scout and we were given the duty of lining the streets and I think our duty was to keep the crowd back on the curb. Looking back, I dont imagine anyone would have paid much attention to an eight year old kid, but I was so proud to stand there between the audience, and those marching down Main Street in the parade. Guess what? I had the best view of anyone there! That was so much fun that day way back in 1962. Later, I sort of got to actually be in a parade, but it wasnt near the thrill of that day standing on the street. Man, the memories that I have sometimes. (((sigh)))
