I had always heard of that standard argument for the Free Market - TopicsExpress

I had always heard of that standard argument for the Free Market system, but then I began to wonder..How do we define the Freedom in this Free Market system? Where shall we draw the line the extent of govt. meddling? Any form of governance, policy or legislation is undoubtedly gonna affect the economy one way or another, even when its not intended to. Do you think there is truly gonna be absolute Freedom? If anything, the wonder of a Free Market system is as illusive as the Utopia of Communism. After all, the function largely remains a theory, unproven till this day, so what is our steadfast belief in the Free Market system based on? The govt. is always gonna be an important player in the economy, so how exactly do we judge whether any move by the govt. is an attempted manipulation of the market? If the govt. were to be hands off from the workings of the economic structure, what about the manipulation by wealthy elites, large corporations and labor unions? The central flaw with this argument about the Free Market is that these kinda natural systemic mechanisms for automatic adjustments, corrections and adaptation can be universally applied to practically everything. Thus, we should not even be having any form of governance, because our natural world, itself a giant self-regulating machine, is Free by birth. For instance, the natural regeneration that exists within our ecosystem, the constant extinction and evolution of species since the inception of our known world...so why bother with erecting policies to encourage environmental conservation but, are we and our behaviors as results of our natural cognitive thinking, not natural parts of the ecosystem in which we live? At the end of the day, how do we explain this fundamental contradiction within the theory supporting Free Market?
