I had an amazing experience this morning as I hiked a 4.5 mile - TopicsExpress

I had an amazing experience this morning as I hiked a 4.5 mile trailin Granby, near Winter Park, CO. It actually began yesterday evening with a kick-off dinner with hosts and keynote speakers Erik Weihenmayer and Sean Swarner. Erik is the first and only blind person to summit Everest and is the VP and Co-Founder of No Barriers , nobarriersusa.org. Sean is the first cancer survivor to summit Everest and has also climbed the highest peaks on all seven continents. He is the author of the book “Keep Climbing: How I Beat Cancer and Reached the Top of the World”. The climb itself this morning was a great challenge and a lot of fun with a group of disabled people and their friends & family all facing their challenges head on. Many thanks to my guide/friend Dave Hardwick for joining me on this adventure. So glad to finally meet Erik & to meet Sean too. Two amazing people. They are determined to change general mind sets about what disabled people can do (or what anyone can do) & they are succeeding.
