I had an amazing opportunity this afternoon. A nursing home approached the spa a few weeks ago and asked if wed be interested in donating a massage to a resident for her birthday. Her 111th birthday to be exact...Claire Sperry-Sutfin and I agreed and went today to meet her..it was phenomenal. Something I will never forget. She is sharp as a tack and a tiny bit spunky too. I learned three things from her today. 1. You can not get through andy thing in this life without God. 2. Life is like a telescope (I guess she meant its easy to look back on) and 3. If there is something you love, then do it! Her gift had been to sing but she was too embarrassed to do it in public, except at church. Shed sing at the top of her lungs. She told me that people would actually stop her on the streets to say just how much theyd enjoyed her voice on Sundays. I cant put into words just how thankful I am to have had that encounter with her today!
