I had an audio engineers nightmare last night. I had to take a new client and record a VO, but the studio was the basement of my parents old house and I had to watch my kids at the same time. So I set up the mic, and I have to use some tiny m-audio interface. I plug it in and its buzzing. Then we check the mic and the room is echoey cause its not treated. I asked the client if they want to wait a minute and i can hand some absorbing material. They say no, theyre in a hurry. Somewhere in this I ask the clients friend to watch the kids and they drive away with them in a car. So i leave the session and chase after them, and locate them in a park somewhere. When I come back, the session is over and I listen to playback and of course the track sounds too roomy.
