I had an email today from Yvonne at Fairtradekoseli I thought Id share some of it with you... Dear Jenny, Yesterday, I received some very sad news from one of my producer partners in Nepal. Malina, the group leader, has been taken seriously ill. She has a large tumour in her uterus which must be operated on immediately.. This is tragic news for a Nepalese family where hospital treatment requires upfront payment to ensure adequate care is given to the patient. Here in the UK, a country were the NHS is on standby to help resolve our health problems, I wonder if we really understand just how lucky we are? ... The recent order which I have placed will provide ‘give back’ cash to Malina’s family to help cover the hospital expenses. Your continued support at Enjoy! will help to create some reprieve for the artisans in times of need in a place were their country seems to be failing them.
